Linak electric actuator capable of pushing 168 lb

By Paul Dvorak | May 11, 2013

LA14

The LA14 features a 12 or 24 Vdc permanent-magnet motor and generates up to 750N thrust. Stroke length spans 40 to 130 mm.

The world is a tough place to work. Applications in agriculture, construction and other heavy-duty industries are exposed to countless challenges in their environments. Dirt, dust, mud and water threaten to force their way into equipment and cause it to fail. The weather poses other risks in the form of extreme cold or heat, rain, snow and fog that can also cause equipment failure. Sudden weather changes make it difficult to prepare machinery for the challenges.

Time-consuming maintenance and repairs due to breakdowns can be costly and potentially bring a company to the verge of failure. Reliable, maintenance-free performance, even under extreme conditions, can mean the difference between failure and success.

Manufacturer Linak says its TECHLINE linear actuators faces these challenges every day with reliable maintenance-free electric performance in extreme environments. The LA14 electric actuator  is the new member of a family of strong and reliable units. It has all of the well-known company qualities and has been fitted with an aluminum housing to make it applicable for the most extreme applications. Important features for the LA14 are:

  • IP66 dynamic and IP69K static
  • Durable aluminum housing
  • Reliable performance in temperatures ranging from -40 to 85ºC
  • Easy maintenance and long lifetime
  • Top quality in every detail

Thanks to the small size and performance, the LA14 actuator provides a practical and cost-effective alternative to traditional pneumatic systems and gear motors. The unit is characterized by its durable design allowing it use in harsh environments, making it well suited  for mobile “off-highway” equipment such as agricultural, forestry and construction machines, and by extension, wind turbines.
