Lincoln Clean Energy begins operation of Texas’ 250-MW Willow Springs wind farm

By Michelle Froese | November 8, 2017

Lincoln Clean Energy (LCE), a portfolio company of I Squared Capital and a developer of wind and solar projects across the U.S., announced that it has reached commercial operation of its Willow Springs project.

The 250-MW Willow Springs wind farm is expected to generate about 1,000,000 megawatt-hours of renewable energy per year.

Willow Springs is a 250-MW wind farm in Haskell County, Texas. The wind farm is expected to generate approximately 1,000,000 megawatt-hours of renewable energy per year.

Combined with the recently commissioned Amazon Wind Farm Texas, LCE has now brought 503 MW of wind energy online in 2017. These projects support hundreds of jobs and provide millions of dollars of investment in local communities in addition to generating enough clean energy to power approximately 180,000 homes annually.

“I am pleased to reach another important milestone with the safe, on time, and on budget delivery of the Willow Springs project,” commented Declan Flanagan, CEO of LCE. “Following the success of this latest project we are ahead of schedule in making $250 million in project equity investments, a target we announced last year on the closing of our partnership with I Squared Capital.”
