Manage a wind turbine network from far away

By Paul Dvorak | March 11, 2011

A manufacturer of machine-to-machine networks for industrial markets has announced the availability of SixView Manager – flexible enterprise class, remote-management software for increasing productivity and reducing costs for organizations using Sixnet industrial-grade wireless routers. SixView Manager’s web-based console lets users remotely access, configure and manage critical device information for several, even thousands, of Sixnet routers. A customizable dashboard highlights alerts, providing instant visibility to potential issues. Proactively accessing data reduces the need to deploy staff to remote sites. Status such as signal strength and IP addresses are displayed in real-time to help simplify troubleshooting. Enhanced security measures let administrators easily set user-based access control parameters, upgrade firmware, configure VPNs, and update firewall settings – all from a remote location.

The software provides a comprehensive real-time view of deployed wireless devices from a single server-based console at a fraction of the cost, the company adds, of existing management software.
