Editor’s note: More of these charging stations will encourage the growth of EVs and that will be ideal for wind-generated power. The manufacturer says this station can take advantage of the full current available from a 30 Amp circuit
ClipperCreek has announced the addition of the LCS-30 EVSE (Electric vehicle supply equipment) to their extensive product line. The LCS-30 is a 24 Amp Level 2 electric vehicle charging station offering 5.8 kW of power for up to four times faster charging than the standard 120-V cordsets delivered with most vehicles. The LCS-30 is available for both hardwired and plug in installations; the hardwired 240 Volt charging station is $499. The four types of LCS-30P plug-in versions are $515.
Designed to serve the residential, workplace, fleet, and public amenity charging markets, the LCS-30 has ClipperCreek’s standard best in class product features, including a 3-year warranty, a fully sealed, rugged NEMA 4 enclosure, 25 feet of charge cable, and a separate, low profile wall mount connector holster.
“ClipperCreek’s mission is to promote the electric vehicle market. We do so by building the most durable, powerful and reliable stations on the market and we do so at various power levels to suit customer’s existing infrastructure and budget. ClipperCreek’s constant innovation has resulted in yet another product value improvement, the LCS-30,” said Jason France, President and Founder of ClipperCreek.
“Electric vehicle owners want faster charging, but don’t necessarily want to upgrade their electrical service panel. The LCS-30 provides the maximum charging power available through a standard 30 Amp, 240 Volt circuit. With 24 Amps available to the vehicle, the LCS-30 can deliver approximately 20 miles of range per hour of charge for vehicles capable of accepting this level of power for charging. This allows more people to use their existing infrastructure, making the installation much more affordable,” said Will Barrett, ClipperCreek’s Director of Sales. “The LCS-30 is offered as a hardwired unit or a plug-in with four different NEMA plug types to choose from. Many people already have a NEMA 14-30 receptacle in their garage, so that will be a very popular configuration and installation costs will be minimal or even no cost in some cases.”
The LCS-30’s rugged design and ample 25 foot charging cable makes it an excellent solution for workplace, fleet, and public amenity charging. “Pairing the LCS-30 with our new, dual mount ready, affordable pedestal, the ProMountDuo, makes the LCS-30 perfect for a parking lot installation. There are many companies who want to offer Level 2 charging for their employees or customers, but can’t make a large infrastructure and hardware investment; this is an excellent solution for them,” said Barrett.
Features of the LCS-30 include:
