Moventas won the Wind Service Provider of the year award at the Wind O&M Dallas 2016 event this week.

Moventas has been chosen the best wind O&M service provider of the year 2015 in the U.S. The award was handed to the Moventas team this week at the Dallas Wind O&M conference by Wind Energy Update.

Moventas won by both votes from the conference participants and a separate panel of independent wind O&M industry experts and professionals. The award is sponsored by E.On and the Danish Wind Power Academy. The conference and show is arranged by Wind Energy Update.

“Moventas is very pleased with this award, which we believe underscores our relentless commitment to developing new technologies and providing Best-in-Class services for our customers and partners in the North American wind industry,” said Steve Casey, Head of Moventas’ North American operations.

Moventas Americas has systematically been developing its services towards more effective O&M of wind gearboxes. With Moventas 35 years of wind gearbox experience, the Americas team has brought innovation especially to the up-tower service of gearboxes. Moventas has a good track record of extensive up-tower jobs up to a full helical stage replacement.

Moventas has four workshops and four mobile service workshops in U.S. and Canada.

Last year, Moventas also began the wave of Extra Life gearbox services designed to prolong popular older fleets’ gearbox life and launched the Extra Life for GE 1.5 replacement gearbox. The Extra Life is a series of technologies that remove known premature failure modes to extend gearbox lifetime, providing carefree extra years for older fleets. More Extra Life services will be launched in Europe this May.
