Ireland’s Old Mill Wind Farm is now complete and comprises of six GE 2.85-103 turbines with an installed capacity of 17.1 MW.

Construction of Old Mill Wind Farm has been completed, thanks to Natural Power‘s owner’s engineer services and GE’s wind turbines. The wind farm, located in County Monaghan, Ireland, and comprises of six GE 2.85-103 turbines with an installed capacity of 17.1 MW.

Owned by Belgian company, Storm, the site was energized at the beginning of September and has been exporting power since November.

“As owner’s engineer on this project, we have worked closely with Storm throughout an extended pre-construction phase and with all stakeholders through a challenging construction phase to successfully reach commercial operations,” said David Dunne, Construction Project Manager for the project.

He added: “As our Irish construction portfolio continues to grow, this latest completion further establishes Natural Power’s credentials as a trusted technical adviser in the Irish renewable energy market.” Old Mill Wind Farm is just one of seven construction and owners’ engineer contracts that Natural Power’s Dublin office is currently managing on behalf of a range of top clients including NTR, Impax Asset Management, and Element Power.

“We selected Natural Power for this job based on experience and local presence,” said Filip Leonard of Storm. “During the project, Natural Power stayed on top of things and proved to be the reliable, pragmatic partner we needed to materialize the wind farm. The enthusiasm and continued engagement of the team contributed to the successful completion of the project.”
