A new approach to inline resin degassing for turbine blade production

Parthian Technology’s new Cannon DX-ILD (inline degasser) mixing machines for resin infusion allow direct degassing of a mixed formulation after the static mixer. Because of this machine, degassing and infusion become an integrated process allowing for higher quality laminates without the waste of time arising from traditional batch degassing of resin.

Cannon-wide experience in process and mixing multi-component resins and Parthian’s deep expertise on membrane and infusion processes made it possible to engineer a reliable and effective solution that is designed to enhance the performances of Cannon DX mixing machines adding inline degassing capability to precision and reliability.

A study performed by Parthian Technology shows that degassing the mixture of resin and hardener (not only the resin before mixing) results in improving ILSS.ILSS versus degassing method

Benefits of ILD

  • Eliminates air bubbles in the rotor blade
  • Eliminates time consuming batch degassing
  • Eliminates complex and costly manual repair operations
  • Improves significant ILSS in the laminate
