Nordex receives Turkish order for N131/3900 wind turbines

By Michelle Froese | June 26, 2017

Erdem Holding has placed another order with Nordex to deliver and install a wind farm. The manufacturer is to supply 10 of its N131/3900 turbines for the Eber wind farm. A premium service covering at least 15 years also forms part of the deal.

Nordex will supply 10 of its  N131/3900 turbines to Turkey’s Eber wind farm, and provide premium service covering at least 15 years for the project.

The “Eber” site is located 250 km to the south-west of Ankara, near to the city of Afyonkarahisar in western Anatolia. At this altitude the average annual wind speed is 7.8 m/s.

The N131/3900 is designed for sites with medium-to-low average wind speeds. Nordex will be supplying the turbines on 84-m tubular steel towers. Install is scheduled for spring 2018. From the end of 2018 the 39-MW wind farm is to produce 136,000 MW of clean electricity.

Eber wind is now the fourth wind farm to be ordered from Nordex by Erdem Holding. Erdem Group operates in the area of telecommunications, energy, construction, construction and building materials, real estate, recycling, and waste management sectors and now has been diversifying into the field of renewables.

The Eber project is the first one for which Nordex will be producing and supplying its N131/3900 turbines.
