Nordex’s N90/2500 turbines will be used on 80-meter tubular steel towers for this wind project.
The Nordex Group has landed another order in Northern Ireland. The company will install 19 N90/2500 turbines for the Brockaghboy Wind Farm in Country Londonderry, Ireland in the spring of 2017.
This 47.5-MW project is being developed by TCI Renewables, and is owned by the Italian power-plant operator, ERG Renew — a major European company with an installed capacity of 1.7 GW in seven countries.
“We are pleased to have ERG as a customer in this project,” said Nordex CSO Patxi Landa. “This highlights the fact that Nordex is once again the first choice among large power plant operators and energy suppliers.”
For years, ERG has been operating N90/2500s in Italy and the company plans to use this turbine on an 80-meter tubular steel tower for this project. The site offers high yields with average wind speeds in excess of 9m/s.
The turbines certified for IEC 1a will be operated and maintained under a 10-year Premium (Full Service) contract from the Nordex service point in Omagh.
