The E27 low intensity models are direct replacement for existing incandescent lighting fixtures used in the Honeywell RTO 25 or OTL 80 obstacle lights.
Hughey & Phillips LLC, a manufacturer of obstruction lighting with headquarters in Urbana, Ohio, says it has purchased the entire aviation obstruction-lighting product line from Honeywell Airport Systems Group,a division of Germany-based Honeywell International. Terms of the purchase were not released. “These new LED-based, obstruction lights diversify and complement our existing products and open additional international markets,” says Jeff Jacobs, VP for purchasing company Hughey & Phillips. “Our company already supplies lighting equipment throughout the world. This will strengthen our global presence,” he adds.
The newly acquired aviation LED products strengthen the company’s portfolio by providing products which meet international standards. All products will continue to meet the European Union CE standards, which certify that a product has met EU consumer safety, health, or environmental requirements. LED-based lights are intended for wind turbines and airport markets in Europe. The lights can also mark obstructions such as buildings, communication towers, and stacks at power plants, structures hazardous to aircraft.
