As part of Small Business Majority’s statewide sign-on campaign, 20 small business owners from across the state have signed a letter pledging to support securing 50% of our nation’s energy from clean energy sources by 2030.
Ohio has an opportunity to become an economic leader by committing to clean energy and small business owners are eager to unleash these benefits. Committing to clean energy can create up to 56,000 additional Ohio jobs by 2030 and 87,000 new jobs by 2050. The overall benefit to Ohio’s economy is slated to be around $9.5B by 2030. Plus, clean energy can create savings for Ohio’s small businesses by increasing energy efficiency and lowering electricity bills.
Small Business Majority’s scientific opinion polling found 66% of Ohio small business owners believe it’s important that the government continues to invest in clean energy. Nationally, 87% of small business owners believe improving innovation and energy efficiency are good ways to increase prosperity for small businesses.
