Lankford Painting Company has purchased modular suspended access platforms to let its crews better inspect and repair towers and blades on Siemens 2.3-MW turbines at four different sites in Texas. “We get four different platforms with just one 360° blade-access platform (BAP) configuration. It really comes down to productivity, safety, and cost savings,” says Jim Lankford, President and CEO of Lankford Painting. “Siemens’ folks were extremely impressed with the ease in which we rigged their 300-ft towers and the speed in which we captured the blade, realizing a huge cost savings.”
