Husband-and-wife duo Jonathan Haar and Linda Mogelli Haar have spearheaded Sky Farm’s production. Coming from a green design background, the two envision their turbines in a cluster atop skyscrapers in Boston and other major cities. It’s a perfect place for them, too: high-rise buildings experience accelerated winds (shown above), and the turbines can be spaced at a one-to-one distance from each other, allowing for many on a single roof. When winds are moving too fast, two pneumatic single acting, fail safe, spring-applied caliper disc brakes shut down the turbine within 10 seconds.
