Project deferred, so six turbines for sale

By Paul Dvorak | July 12, 2011

No turbines will go up at the previously proposed EcoDane wind project in Dane country, Wisc.

Wave Wind LLC, Sun Prairie, Wisc. says it has sold its planned EcoDane wind project in Springfield, Wis., to a local company. The project was first proposed in 2007. Terms of the agreement were not public. The company purchased six, 1.5-MW turbines in 2009 with the intention of building the project. “The 10-MW project was slated for fall of 2010 construction, but Wave Wind shifted gears when another opportunity surfaced,” says Wave Wind VP of Business Development Dionne Lummus. The company is looking for buyers for the turbines. “We are working on a few projects outside of the U.S. for 2012 but would like to find a home for the turbines in the U.S.,” says Lummus.
