REG selects Greenbyte’s Breeze software to manage wind-farm portfolio

By Michelle Froese | February 15, 2018

Breeze software is used globally by wind-turbine owners and operators to capture the full potential of wind projects. Breeze is designed to improve portfolio performance and enable proactive wind-farm management.

REG Power Management, a UK developer, owner, and operator of renewable energy projects, has selected both of Greenbyte’s modern software systems: Breeze for wind-farm management and Bright for solar PV plant management.

Greenbyte will work with REG Power Management to bring into Breeze and Bright their current portfolio of 30 wind farms and 10 solar PV plants. The systems will be used for real-time production monitoring, streamlined reporting, and in-depth data analysis over any time period to optimize plant energy output, performance, and availability.

“We are delighted to have selected Greenbyte to provide the core monitoring and SCADA overlay system for our operational fleet of over 400 MW of wind and solar projects under management,” said Simon Wannop, Commercial Director at REG Power Management. “The decision to partner with Greenbyte was made following an extensive review of the market and solutions available.”

The independent renewable energy management systems, Breeze and Bright, are used globally by wind energy and solar PV owners and operators to capture the full potential of renewable energy projects. Power plants are remotely connected to Greenbyte’s software via on-site SCADA systems – resulting in a powerful tool that monitors, analyzes, plans, and controls diverse renewable energy portfolios of any size.

“We are excited to bring REG on as a customer. REG is one of the most respected and experienced renewable energy companies in the UK and their trust in us means a lot. We look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership for many years to come,” said Jonas Corné, CEO at Greenbyte.
