Who will pay for wind power storage? How will it be procured? How will storage change the wind business model in Canada? What are the current operational experiences of storage for wind? These questions will be addressed at Renewable Energy Storage Summit, summit on Oct 7 at the Toronto Convention Centre, co-located and supported by CanWEA2013.
Senior representatives from system operators, utilities, investment firms and IPPs are confirmed to participate including IESO, AESO, Hydro-Quebec, Brookfield, Nalcor, Cowessess First Nation, RES Canada, Duke Energy, PJM, Northland Power, Renewable Energy Developers Inc., Watts Wind Energy, Alaska Village Electric Cooperative, Convergent Energy & Power, MaRS Cleantech Fund & EFW Partners.
Recent additions to the agenda include David Jeon, Renewable Fleet Technical Manager at Sempra US Gas and Power, who will be sharing his operational experiences from the Auwahi Wind Farm which includes eight turbines and an 11 MW, grid battery to regulate and sustain wind power to Maui’s grid. And Ken Montgomery, Director of Technology for the Wind Energy Institute of Canada, who will be providing insights from WEICAN’s 10 MW wind-storage demonstration project which features utility-scale electricity storage with the aim of examining how grid integration can improve wind generation economics.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from early-adopters of energy storage and get the complete picture of how storage will change the wind business model in Canada. For the full agenda Click here .
