If you were hungry to hear about the newest products and trends in the clean energy industry, the Renewable Energy World Conference & Expo appeased your appetite. With almost 200 vendors and suppliers displaying equipment, products, and services, the show was small enough to have conversations with company representatives, yet large enough to walk away with a bag full of info sheets and a pocket of business cards. The wealth of knowledge and network connections the show offered made up for having to return home and leave the Tampa sun behind.
The approximately 4,000 attendees could also attend workshops, technical tours of Tampa’s “green” buildings, and sessions discussing Biomass, Wind, Solar, Geothermal, Hyrdo, Policy, Market & Finance, Utility Integration, and the Smart Grid. Galvin Electricity Initiatives’ Executive Director Kurt Yeager gave the keynote address, where he spoke of a model project underway at the Illinois Institute of Technology to design and build efficient “Power System models,” as well as his efforts to work with innovators and entrepreneurs.

American Electric Technologies (AETI): offers arc flash mitigation switchgear, conversion products, and other power delivery devices for the wind industry
Satcon: solar inverter manufacturer
Shermco industries: offers up-tower field, training, and engineering services, including a wind generator remanufacturing facility
Schneider Electric: offering inverters for commercial and utility solar farms
Concentrix solar: manufacturers of concentrated PV plants
Gibbs & Soell: marketing expertise for the renewable indutry
Schletter Inc.: offers solar mounting systems
STEGO Inc.: thermal management products for enclosures
Stoel Rives: offering legal services for the clean energy industry
Solmetric: test and measurement tools for the PV industry
