Reuters Events launches floating wind executive summit in San Francisco this November

By WPED Staff | July 18, 2022

Reuters Events will launch a new conference: Floating Wind USA, taking place November 8-9 at Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco. The two-day summit will gather senior public and private sector leaders to deliver up to 4.6 GW floating wind off the Pacific Ocean by 2030.

Officials from Bluefloat Energy, Castle Wind, the California Energy Commission, BOEM and Orsted are amongst the 40+ speakers at the event.

“With major plans for expansion and new lease areas across the Pacific, the floating wind opportunity has never greater,” said Diana Dropol, Project Director for Floating Wind USA at Reuters Events. “We encourage every pillar of the supply chain to join America’s most influential floating offshore wind event to secure partners, win contracts and seize opportunities.”

The four key content pillars covered at the conference include:

  • Getting projects off the ground – Developing California’s first floating wind farms in Morro Bay and Humboldt and expediting permitting and auctioning
  • Grid connectivity – Transmission & interconnection planning and coordination
  • Investing in floating – The context for project risk management and determining how to make ROI in floating wind
  • Port infrastructure and the supply chain – Tackling challenges related to local content requirements

The brochure for the executive conference is available for download here.
