Salutations From Your Neighborhood Windpower Engineering Gal!

By Nic Sharpley | June 13, 2012

Greetings wind world, I am the new face at Windpower Engineering & Development. Filling the gigantic shoes of Kathie Zipp, who has moved to our sister publication, Solar Power World, I look forward to learning all about the wind industry.

Prior to joining the magazine, I spent almost four years in a newsroom reporting on policy and innovative technology.  A U.S. Air Force veteran, I specialized in munitions working on 500-lb bombs, missiles, chaff, and flare. I also spent some time in Guam and Afghanistan. Travelling is my passion and I am open to any travel suggestions.  I am obsessed with Groupon and am always looking for a great deal.

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, I am passionate about my city and love the diversity. I received a BA in Journalism and Promotional Communications from Cleveland State University and am working on my MBA in Marketing at Tiffin University.

As I become acclimated with the multi-faceted wind industry, I welcome all comments. In the near future, be on the look out for my posts, columns, and blogs.
