SCIGRIP launches smarter adhesives to enhance bonding of metals, plastics

By Nic Sharpley | March 27, 2013

SCIGRIP logoSCIGRIP, the global adhesive solutions developer, has announced an enhanced SG600 Series methacrylate adhesive for bonding metals, composites, and other plastic parts used in a variety of assembly operations.  The advanced SG600 Series products from SCIGRIP are high-performance adhesives featuring a combination of high tensile strength, high modulus and elongation for bonding a range of metals, thermoplastics, and thermoset composites.

The combination of minimum surface preparation and reduced bond-line-read-through makes the SG600 Series ideal for many industrial applications, including transportation.  Designed to meet specific requirements, such as superior fatigue and shock load resistance, SCIGRIP’s SG600 Series can be used to assemble heavy trucks, medium duty trucks, RVs, work trucks, buses, and rail vehicles.  The SG600 Series’ fast and robust bonding process allows for improved throughput and increased productivity gains.

The SG600 Series methacrylate adhesives from SCIGRIP are two-component, 10:1 mix ratio products with excellent environmental and chemical resistance, with a choice of five-, ten- and twenty-minute working times to meet application and process requirements.  The SG600 Series are ideal adhesives for a wide range of substrates including acrylic, PVC, ABS, coated metals, thermoset composites (vinyl ester, polyester, gelcoats, and epoxy), and other thermoplastics.  Packaging options include 490 ml cartridges and 5 and 50 gallon (19 and 189 liters) bulk containers for use with meter-mix dispense equipment.
