Sealants and adhesives for base, tower and nacelle

By Steven Bushong | June 13, 2012

A manufacturer of adhesives and sealants also provides lubricants and coatings for installation and maintenance of blades, nacelles, towers, and bases. For rotor blade repair, Loctite polyurethane resins cure rapidly at room temperature, reducing downtime associated with blade maintenance.

In the nacelle, the company’s products provide UV/moisture resistance to seal against harsh weather. Cleaners and lubricants are said to keep equipment running reliably. High-traction coatings prevent slipping on interior and exterior walkways. And anaerobic products maintain threaded fasteners, joints and flanges.

Loctite products seal out moisture and prevent corrosion on tower sections, load support plates, platforms, bolt heads, ladder frames and metal surfaces. Products are formulated for ladder bonding and threadlocking.

At the base, fast curing grouts are said to facilitate tower installations and ensure the structure is level and secure. Sealants also prevent water ingress around electrical cables and concrete repair products correct damage and cracks.
