By Michelle Froese | September 24, 2015

Renewable energy consultancy, SgurrEnergy, has been awarded permanent membership of the Measuring Network of Wind Energy Institutes (MEASNET).

SgurrEnergy, has been awarded permanent membership with the Measuring Network of Wind Energy Institutes (MEASNET).

Having successfully completed a seven-point assessment program, renewable energy consultancy SgurrEnergy, a Wood Group company, is now part of the MEASNET Power Performance Expert Group.

This group organizes and performs inter-comparison tests to achieve a unified understanding of the IEC 61400-12-1 standard. It also facilitates continuous exchange between experts in the field of wind turbine power-performance measurements.

SgurrEnergy’s Power-performance Manager, Florin Pintilie, said: “SgurrEnergy has been accredited by UKAS for wind turbine power-performance measurement since 2011, with a significant track record of successfully carried out power-curve tests on a wide range of turbine models.”

Pintilie added: “Becoming a member of MEASNET continues our commitment to high-quality measurements and analysis and allows us to further help the industry to improve existing standards, guidelines and recommendations.”

MEASNET is a co-operation of companies which are engaged in the field of wind energy and want to ensure high-quality measurements and uniform interpretation of standards and recommendations. SgurrEnergy’s involvement is important recognition of the company’s role in the industry.
