Shermco Industries one of first to become EASA accredited

By Nic Sharpley | September 3, 2014

Shermco is one of the first companies to receive this EASA accreditation.

Shermco is one of the first companies to receive this EASA accreditation.

Shermco Industries recently announced that it has achieved a quality milestone by becoming one of the first motor repair and remanufacturing centers to be fully accredited by the Electrical Apparatus Service Association under its new EASA Accreditation Program.  The initiative is designed to assure compliance with prescribed best business and technical practices, including both electrical and mechanical repairs and manufacturing processes.

The criteria for becoming EASA Accredited are based on ANSI/EASA AR100-2010: Recommended Practice for the Repair of Rotating Electrical Apparatus and The Good Practice Guide of The Effect of Repair/Rewinding on Motor Efficiency. Shermco’s third-party audit was performed by Advanced Energy of Raleigh, North Carolina, the only NIST accredited motor test lab in North America.

In addition to its new EASA Accreditation, Shermco also has an ongoing ISO9001-2008 recognition for process excellence and the Proven Efficiency Verification certification program that assures machine reliability and compliance with original designed efficiency standards for remanufactured motors and generators.
