Spares in Motion simplifies wind turbine spares-procurement process with new webshop

By Paul Dvorak | September 22, 2016

Spares in Motion, a platform for the wind turbines aftermarket, has opened today the biggest multi-brand online shop for buying and selling wind turbine spare parts. The aim of the shop — currently offering more than 10,000 products – is to facilitate the spares-procurement process. Users will be able to order, checkout, and request shipment in just a few clicks.spares-in-new-redesiged-homepage-1

The decision to create a webshop on top of the already existing trading platform, comes as an answer to the new needs of buyers and suppliers within the wind turbines aftermarket; in fact, because of the rapid growth of the post-warranty market, buyers demand new, transparent and quick solutions to procure spare parts. On the other hand, suppliers – overwhelmed by the demand — are becoming more aware of the value that e-commerce solutions can bring to their businesses.

The webshop was developed by carefully listening to the needs of the industry; ‘after talking to big players, such as Duke, EDF-UK, and Deutsche Windtechnik’, explains Spares in Motion co-founder, Marc Huyzer, ‘we have realized that there is a need for a pioneering solution that simplifies the spares-procurement process and makes it more efficient’. He continues, ‘a webshop offers a simple and transparent solution for both buyers and suppliers. Buyers can compare prices and buy parts from everywhere, anytime, with just a couple of clicks. Suppliers will receive direct orders, 24/7, shortening their transaction process and improving efficiency within their organizations. This all contributes to a much easier process for both sides’.
