Valvetrab-SQ surge protective devices (SPD) offer safe, reliable surge protection from 40,000 to 200,000 amps. The NEMA-style product series, from Phoenix Contact USA, Middletown, Pa, includes about 50 part numbers in three different mountable designs designated as CC for control cabinet, SP for sub-panel, and SE for service entrance. The VAL-SQ CC series offers economical equipment for protecting electronic devices in light commercial, light industrial, and residential environments. For instance, units in the CC series have a current rating of 40,000 amps of surge. Its compact design is well suited for installations in a control cabinet or directly into critical equipment.

A multi-phase SPD and noise filter, the VAL-SQ SP series, protects sensitive equipment even in harsh environments. It can be installed adjacent to sub-panels or directly to sensitive equipment. It provides 80,000 or 120,000 amps of surge current rating per phase.

And the VAL-SQ SE series provides maximum surge protection for service entrances and remote locations in industrial and commercial applications. Available with 120,000, 160,000, and 200,000 amp surge current ratings, SE units can be mounted near the circuit breaker to reduce connecting leads and improve performance.
