Suzlon commissioned the S111 turbine in Texas on April 18th.

Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation (SWECO) commissioned its first S111 on U.S. soil, producing its first kilowatt-hour (kWh) at its test site near Channing, Texas. SWECO will test various aspects of the new S111 over the coming months, welcoming interested customers to come visit the progress.

“It was a collaborative effort of many experienced  local and international resources, as well as the endless support of our landlord, the Barbara Family, and the local community.” said Matt Bartlett, Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation’s Project Manager responsible for installing and commissioning the S111. “We are proud to showcase our newest turbine model in such a great wind resource.”

“We are confident that the S111 will perform better than projected and welcome our customers to come visit our test site,” said Duncan Koerbel, Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation’s CEO.

Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation, which focuses on the North American market, is a subsidiary of Suzlon Energy Limited, of Pune, India. The sales and service headquarters for North America is located in Chicago, Illinois, where the service group monitors and oversees the maintenance of 1,378 wind turbine generators, totalling 2,716 MW in 17 states and Canada.
