Thermo Bond Buildings acquires new facility in Indiana

By Michelle DiFrangia | August 14, 2014

Thermo Bond Buildings, a provider of equipment enclosures for the telecom, government, fiber and power generation industries, recently increased their production capacity with the lease of an additional building in Elkhart, Ind.

In April of 2014, Thermo Bond Buildings acquired the Precast Concrete Assets of Mobile/Modular Express II in Elkhart, which included several buildings on a 20 acre facility. Thermo Bond Buildings has leased an additional 60,000 ft.² building on the same facility. The building was formerly used by Miller Building Systems and Mobile Modular Express II to build modular offices and housing.

“The sales growth of our metal buildings and lightweight equipment enclosures has placed great strains on our personnel and manufacturing facility in Elk Point,” says Steve Kistner, CEO of Thermo Bond Buildings. “Our team has been searching for and reviewing several locations to expand our production capacity.”

“Due to the existing layout, equipment and location of the Elkhart building, we will be able to begin production of lightweight and metal buildings in the new building early next month,” he adds.

Thermo Bond Buildings will continue to build Precast Concrete buildings in the existing concrete facility and build lightweight and metal buildings in Elk Point and ramp up production in Elkhart.
