The new apps for the AliSensor Level are Spindle Parallelism, Spindle Perpendicularity, and Multi Values.
Three new measurement programs are available for the ALiSensor Level geometric measurement system. The new apps are Spindle Parallelism, Spindle Perpendicularity, and Multi Values. said Mr. Knitz. “All of these apps are free to download, with free, automatic updates,” says Alignment Supplies President Greg Knitz.
The Multi Values app lets users record live data and multiple values from an ALiSensor Level unit, equipping the user with a broad spectrum of measurement applications. Added to this is the capability to simultaneously connect up to three ALiSensor Level units, empowering users to perform geometric measurements like never before, with dynamic sensor values across three separate, yet linkable, sensor units. The sensor units can be zeroed for relative measurements, or calibrated for absolute measurements. One sensor unit can be selected to act as a reference, so the measurement values from other units are adjusted. “The potential for this Multi Values App is absolutely staggering,” said Knitz, “with applications for machine tool users, manufacturers, and practically all industrial reliability professionals. Connecting multiple Levels at the same time is an unprecedented innovation and a unique approach to geometric measurement.”
The Spindle Parallelism App lets users quickly perform parallelism measurements on a machine with a horizontal spindle using an ALiSensor Level, featuring angle accuracy down to 0.001°. The parallelism of the horizontal surface of the working table and the rotation axis of the spindle are measured using a process with automatic calibration. The app provides 3D graphical guidance through each step of the measurement, and the angle result is displayed in the user’s unit of choice.
The Spindle Perpendicularity App lets users quickly perform perpendicularity measurements on a machine with a vertical spindle using an ALiSemspr Level, again with angle accuracy down to 0.001°. The perpendicularity of the horizontal surface of the working table and the rotation axis of the spindle is measured using a process with automatic calibration. Like the Spindle Parallelism App, the Spindle Perpendicularity App provides 3D graphical guidance through each step of the measurement, and the angle result is displayed in the user’s unit of choice. “These two spindle apps are powerful measurement programs especially useful for machine tool users,” added Knitz.
The Multi Values, Spindle Parallelism, and Spindle Perpendicularity Apps are downloaded free of charge from the App Store. Because the Level was developed under the Industrial MFi (Made for iPad) program, which integrates the iPad and other iOS devices into industrial-grade tools and equipment, adding new measurement programs is easily performed by downloading them for free from the App Store.
