Tri Global Energy has 3,100 MW of wind power in development in Texas

By Paul Dvorak | March 31, 2017

Tri Global Energy, a Dallas-based renewable energy company, continues as the leading developer of wind energy projects under construction in Texas, according to the U.S. Wind Industry Fourth Quarter 2016 Market Report from the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), the nation’s trade association for the U.S. wind energy industry.

With 3,100 MW of wind-power projects currently under construction in Texas, Tri Global Energy’s wind projects represent nearly 60% of all wind power projects being developed in the state.

With 3,100 MW of wind power projects currently under construction in Texas, Tri Global Energy’s wind projects represent nearly 60% of all wind power projects being developed in the state. Texas has a total of 5,400 MW of wind projects under construction at this writing. A total of 10,432 MW of wind projects, including those in Texas, are now under construction in the U.S. So about 52% of all new construction is in the Lone Star State.

“Texas is an energy powerhouse and that includes the state’s leadership in wind energy,” says John Billingsley, Chairman and CEO at Tri Global Energy. “There is more wind energy production, and there are more wind workers than in any other state.  The 3,100 MW of wind projects that Tri Global has put into operation, construction or financing since 2014, and the hundreds of resulting jobs that have been created, have been a significant contributor to this achievement.

“For many rural communities in Texas, the wind is critical to economic development – and I expect this to remain the case for some time to come,” says Billingsley.  “To date, our projects have created over $26 million of direct payments to our participating landowners and community members in Texas. Based on our success here, we are now expanding our presence in other rural communities across the country.” For more:  http://www.triglobalenergy.com.
