Nordex has been producing the N117/2400 onshore turbine since mid July, which is right in line with plans. The turbines are now being produced in Rostock, Germany, and Jonesboro, Ark., with a total capacity of over 130 MW.

TÜV Nord recently awarded Nordex the construction approval certificate for three hub heights: 91, 120, and 141 meters, configurations with 50 and 60 Hertz, as well as the normal and cold-climate version. Nordex certified in Germany with DiBt 2 as well as for the normal-climate version with hub heights.

Nordex says it will now turn its attention to including further suppliers in the IEC certification and preparing type certification for the N117/2400.
