Firetrace International says it has been selected as the preferred supplier of automatic fire suppression systems for Vestas’ new and existing wind turbine models in the United States and Canada. The OEM evaluated systems based on their ease of application to areas of concern as well as demonstration of the systems’ performance in the unique environment of a wind turbine.
The automatic fire suppression devices are available through Vestas as an option for new wind turbine purchases or through the Vestas sales team as an additional safety feature on existing fleets. Designs available include the newest Vestas turbines as well as previous legacy turbines in all megawatt output options for each model.
Firetrace offers a unique approach to fire detection and suppression with the linear pneumatic detection tubing that can be routed throughout the equipment, ensuring immediate detection and suppression at the source of the fire. The equipment is automatic and requires no external power, providing uninterrupted protection even in the most remote locations. A compact size and detection method makes the systems unaffected by vibration, temperature extremes, and airflow present in wind turbines.
Automatic fire suppression devices are easily installed on new and existing wind turbines and are easily built into the unit for immediate shut down of the turbine upon detection and discharge of the system.

So we cannot use upright sprinklers above ceiling and best option is to use gas protection (argon) fire trace system.
