The CAD model of a casting has been meshed with MSC Patran for an analysis.

A developer of multidiscipline simulation software says P/A Engineering, a U.K.-based engineering consulting company, has selected MSC Nastran and Patran to simulate complex composite components for the aerospace industry.

P/A Engineering has an extensive background in structural analysis of large aircraft. Working with OEMs, their suppliers and Supplemental Type Certificate holders, P/A Engineering offers a range of design and analysis services.

“With MSC Software’s finite-element analysis software, we can speed up the analysis process,” says Jeff Woolmer, Director of P/A Engineering. “The technology also lets us perform structural analysis for particular customer projects that we could not have otherwise addressed without MSC solutions. MSC Nastran and Patran lets us offer a broader range of analysis solutions.”

MrWoolmer adds: “MSC´s customer support has been good and timely, which built customer confidence. The initial flexible leasing helped with uncertain project schedules, and it was a low risk entry point for us.”
