Renewable energy consultants, UL (formerly AWS Truepower) have released its Annual Wind Trends Bulletin. Annual wind performance maps for 2018 show deviations in the wind resource from average annual conditions in every region of the world.
According to global re-analysis data, many of the world’s key wind power producing areas experienced below-normal winds in 2018. The wind speed deficit continued across much of North America and Europe, while Asia moderated to near-normal conditions after consistently below-normal winds in 2017.
