UL releases October 2018 Wind Trends Bulletin

By Michelle Froese | November 13, 2018

Renewable energy consultants, UL (formerly AWS Truepower) have released their Wind Trends Bulletin for October 2018. Monthly wind performance maps for October show deviations from average conditions in the wind resource for the month in every region of the world.

The monthly Wind Trends Bulletin is based on a custom combination of three re-analysis datasets: ERA-Interim, MERRA, and CFSR. The use of all three allows for rapid, reliable updates of global wind conditions.

Knowing the performance of the wind can help wind developers understand the performance of their wind plant. UL can help identify areas of improvement, reduce downtime, and maximize a wind plant’s energy production.
