Universal I/O module with galvanically isolated inputs from Bachmann

The AIO200 series is available with 2, 4 and 8 channels, and each channel is individually galvanically isolated.

Reliable potential isolation is critical, particularly on ships or in extensive production plants where a number of independent systems distributed over large distances interact. In this respect, sensors are a particular potential weak point for an automation system, especially if they have to be mounted in environments exposed to dirt or weather conditions. They are therefore normally connected using isolating transformers that isolate them in the event of a fault, thus preventing harm to the overall system. The AIO200/SI series combines these functions directly in the module, thus reducing installation requirements and also simplifying spare parts management.

The channels of the AIO200/SI can be configured individually: With standard signal types for current (0 .. 20 mA and 4 .. 20 mA) and voltage (±10 V .. ±10 mV) it is possible to connect a wide range of different sensors and actuators. The outputs are overload-proof, short-circuit- proof and protected against external voltage. The inputs can also be used for temperature measuring with type J, K, T, N, E, R, S and B thermocouples, including internal or external cold junction compensation or the connection of 2, 3 or 4-wire temperature sensors (Pt100 or Pt1000). Up to two signal types can be used simultaneously on each channel, which in many cases doubles the number of usable channels on each module. Different filters that are also adjustable for each channel enable the ideal adaption of signals in closed-loop control applications.

The AIO200/SI series can be used in virtually all analog signal measuring tasks and is thus a perfect addition to the portfolio of the universal I/O modules of the GIO series.
