The firm and unconditional U.S. order comprises 100 V110-2.0 MW turbines, with supply and commissioning. It also includes a multi-year Active Output Management 4000 (AOM4000) service agreement, Vestas’ full-scope service package maximizing uptime and energy production. The customer was unnamed.
“Each turbine manufactured in this order will support 30 full-time jobs over its lifetime, all while delivering clean, low-cost energy and millions in economic benefits to the host community and all the communities touched by Vestas’ manufacturing supply chain which spans all 50 states,” said Chris Brown, President of Vestas’ sales and service division in the U.S. and Canada.
Delivery of the wind turbines is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2018, with commissioning expected in the fourth quarter of 2018.
With more than 36 GW installed in 45 countries on six continents since its debut, Vestas’ 2-MW platform is the most widely installed platform in the industry.
The new order will be registered as second-quarter 2017 order intake.
