By Michelle Froese | July 5, 2019

Vestas receives 225 MW of 2 and 4 MW turbines with 25-year service agreement

Vestas wins a new U.S. turbine order for its 2 and 4-MW class platforms, with a 25-year service agreement.

Following a string of new wind orders, Vestas has received another new U.S.contract. This one is for the company’s V150-4.2 MW and V110-2.0 MW turbines for a 242-MW wind farm. It including previously purchased 2 and 4-MW components.

According to Vestas, the mixed platform site configuration demonstrates the flexibility of Vestas’ 2 and 4-MW technology platforms, and its ability to customize site layouts to optimize the wind resources.

The order includes supply and commissioning of the turbines, as well as a 25-year service agreement, designed to ensure performance for the lifetime of the project. Wind-turbine delivery will begin in the first quarter of 2020, with commissioning scheduled for the third quarter of 2020.

The projects and customer are undisclosed at the customer’s request.
