Washington wind farm gets federal funds

By Kathie Zipp | June 21, 2010

The American Recovery & Reinvestment Act provided a grant for the Windy Point/Windy Flats Project. The grant will help purchase turbines and cover other project costs. It will also help the project expand from 400 to 500 MW.

The project is located along the Columbia River in Goldendale, Washington, and is one of the largest wind farms in the United States. Cannon Power Group, a San Diego-based renewable energy developer, is also sponsoring the project. Attorneys from Hunton & Williams helped secure the grant.
