Windpower Engineering & Development’s top 12 products of 2013

2. No torque required for this fastener

The Huck Bobtail lock bolt looks similar to a nut and bolt, but works differently. For instance, a hydraulically powered tool grabs the annular pull grooves at the end of the pin and pulls to swag an anvil on the collar, which also tightly pulls joining parts together. Swaging elongates the collar and pin, developing precise clamp load. The tool ejects the fastener and releases the puller.
