WMO to implement BareFLEET remote-monitoring system on transfer vessels

By Michelle Froese | July 15, 2019

Offshore logistics operator, World Marine Offshore (WMO), have implemented BareFLEET, Reygar’s advanced remote-monitoring system, on their crew-transfer vessel (CTV) World Mistral. This installation is the first in WMO’s rollout of BareFLEET, which will soon deliver comprehensive health and performance monitoring across the firm’s diverse fleet of CTVs.

BareFLEET reporting suite provides CTV operators with concise analysis of fleet health, performance, motion, and activity data. Learn more here.

Leading vessel businesses across the offshore wind support sector are investing in a number of monitoring systems as part of a best practice approach to vessel operations. However, a lack of interoperability between these disparate systems continues to present a significant challenge for vessel operators.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that this data must be pulled into one place and interfaced smoothly to generate a clear picture of vessel performance and health from which to inform operational and commercial decisions.

In addition to BareFLEET’s standard package of advanced engine, navigation, and motion monitoring, World Mistral’s version of BareFLEET interfaces with several third-party systems already installed to the vessel. This includes the soft bow hydraulic system, fin stabilizer ride control system, active ballast system, and genset, bow thruster, and shore power.

By consolidating the data from these existing systems, BareFLEET will act as a black box tool that provides a single platform for complete insight into WMO’s CTV vessel performance data.

“As part of WMO’s commitment to finding cost-efficient and effective solutions to their client’s operational challenges, they have requested a highly comprehensive system of vessel monitoring,” explained Chris Huxley-Reynard, Engineering Director of Reygar. “By plugging in BareFLEET, the operations team will be able to optimize the vessel’s performance and schedule maintenance before faults become critical, therefore, maintaining a high level of safety and availability for their clients.””

Huxley-Reynard added: “BareFLEET’s digital DPR function will also support the firm’s emphasis on maintaining trust and transparency within client relationships.”

Via the digital DPR, WMO will be able to supply comprehensive reports to their clients on a daily basis, showing crew onboard, technician pax and equipment transfers, fuel bunkering, weather observations and safety checks and drills.

Jesper Mortensen, Head of Technical at WMO, said: “Our high-performance CTVs include SWATH, high-speed, and hybrid vessels, and encompass a range of unique designs and onboard systems intended to provide our clients with the right vessel to suit their needs – and the versatility of the BareFLEET platform will ensure that we have the most comprehensive understanding of a fleet of any CTV operator in the industry.”
