ABB reclosers meet stringent performance requirements with improved efficiency

By Michelle Froese | September 9, 2015

ABB enhances Recloser offering with multiple controller options, greater flexibility.

ABB now offers reclosers with multiple controller options, high-accuracy sensors, and greater flexibility.

As part of its continuously evolving product offering, power and automation technology company ABB has announced a new multiple controller offering for the ABB recloser product line, including the PCD, RER620, and SEL-651R controllers.

ABB reclosers have a long history of proven field performance with more than 15 years of installations worldwide. The ABB recloser offering continues to integrate innovative and unique technologies, enabling customers to meet their performance requirements and the growing sophistication of power-distribution systems.

ABB’s product line keeps electronics out of the recloser cabinet and includes embedded sensors that maintain their high accuracy over wide ranging environmental conditions. By pairing ABB’s recloser cabinet with controllers from multiple manufacturers, customers will be able to implement the most reliable recloser available with their controller of choice.

“We recognize that our diverse customer base has a wide range of system needs,” said Steve Gallo, Vice President and General Manager of ABB’s Medium-voltage Apparatus Products. “The benefits of our new and continuously evolving recloser offerings will enable us to better supply the operational benefits that our customers are seeking. With the broadest product offering and ratings available, multiple mounting options, and numerous compatible controllers, ABB reclosers can truly accommodate any application.”
