AFC Cable Systems offers extreme-temperature conduit options

By Michelle Froese | May 11, 2015

AFC's Liquid-Tuff Flexible Liquidtight Conduit offers a superior temperature for ambient enviornments.

AFC’s Liquid-Tuff conduit offers a superior temperature rating and a zinc-galvanized low-carbon steel core that’s meant to last in tough working conditions.

AFC Cable Systems, a manufacturer of electrical products, recently announced their new line of LIQUID-TUFF Flexible Liquidtight Conduit for a variety of temperature requirements.

All products feature superior temperature ratings and a hot-dipped, zinc-galvanized low-carbon steel core that are available in three unique formulations: Non-UL Extreme Temperature, UL Hi-Low Temperature, and UL Extra UV-resistant Hi-Low Temperature. The entire product line meets the ASTM D746 low-temperature brittle point of -40°C.

LIQUID-TUFF Non-UL Extreme Temperature Liquidtight Flexible Metal Conduit resists extremes in temperature and remains flexible, making it ideal for industrial applications. It performs well in outdoor locations and at very high operating temperatures. With a high-quality thermoplastic rubber jacket, LIQUID-TUFF Non-UL Extreme Temperature also exhibits superior chemical resistance.

UL Hi-Low Liquidtight Flexible Steel Conduit is designed for machine tool wiring applications and is a good choice for direct burial and concrete embedment — including for hazardous locations that require extremely flexible connections. It works seamlessly in hot and cold climate installations and even features a flame-retardant PVC jacket that is sunlight resistant.

UL Extra UV Resistant Hi-Low Temperature Liquidtight Flexible Steel Conduit is designed for use as a raceway for power, control, and communication cables. It is also ideal in extreme temperature climates. This option is the right choice for solar and wind farm applications. This version comes with a specially formulated flame-retardant PVC jacket and offers superior sunlight and ozone resistance.
