AWS Truepower releases November 2015 Wind Trends Bulletin

By Michelle Froese | December 8, 2015

WTB Novermber 2015.inddAWS Truepower’s new monthly wind performance maps, released shortly after the end of each month, show deviations in the wind resource from average conditions in every region of the world for the preceding month.

This service is an enhancement of the company’s current wind trends service, which provides a quarterly snapshot of wind performance.

The new service is based on a custom combination of three reanalysis datasets:

  • ERA-Interim,
  • MERRA, and
  • CFSR.

The use of all three allows for rapid, reliable updates of global wind conditions. Knowing the performance of the wind can help wind plant owners and operators understand the performance of their wind farm. AWS’s performance services can help identify areas of improvement, reduce downtime and maximize your plant’s energy production.
