Bachmann subsidiary, Bachmann Monitoring GmbH celebrates 15 years Condition Monitoring experience in the wind energy sector. The innovative diagnostic and control system is successfully deployed in more than 3,000 wind power plants from over 20 different manufacturers, which are monitored around-the-clock out of locations from the United States, China and Europe.

Control-integrated CMS
Condition Monitoring Systems (CMS) offer real financial benefits for operators of wind energy plants. The early detection of faults on the monitored components enables the prevention of major damage and lengthy unscheduled downtimes that often involve considerable costs. The quality of the maintenance is improved; thus having a positive effect on the lifespan of the systems.

The CMS ‚Ω-Guard‘ of Bachmann was certified by the Germanische Lloyd (GL) as the worldwide first control-integrated solution. For the first time the complete record, analysis and evaluation of the realized solution is possible parallel to the control program. By integrating CMS into the Bachmann system additional monitoring functions, such as the current performance or the operating condition, can be determined.

Large energy providers go for “CMS-Retrofit”
Besides the control-integrated CMS, more and more plant manufacturers rely on the “Retrofit” system, an alternative solution provided by Bachmann Monitoring especially for retrofitting wind power plants. The CMS module of the new Bachmann Retrofit can be installed independently from the respective control environment, either as complete stand-alone solution or as TopBox version within an existing switchboard. Currently, over 1,300 wind energy plants are retrofitted worldwide on behalf of large energy supply companies.
