In acquiring Ekhosoft, Bay4 now provides comprehensive asset and performance management for wind, solar, and storage project owners and operators.

Bay4 Energy Services, a global energy asset performance management company, has acquired Ekhosoft, a provider of operational management and intelligent software solutions based in Montreal, Quebec. The deal unifies a global portfolio of more than 18 GW of combined wind, solar, and other energy generation assets under Bay4’s active management and software licensing agreements.

“After working together with Ekhosoft across hundreds of sites, it became clear that there were excellent synergies between our two companies,” said Clay Biddinger, Chairman and CEO of Bay4 Energy. “The integration of Ekhosoft’s powerful asset performance management platform with Bay4’s back-office asset management software and extensive energy services capabilities provides a truly comprehensive offering for solar, wind, storage, and other power plant owners and operators.”

He added: “We can now give our solar and wind customers an unparalleled view into everything that’s going on with their power plant assets, helping them to better optimize plant performance and maximize their financial returns.”

Available in desktop and mobile app formats, Ekhosoft’s asset performance management software platform integrates real-time data from control systems information from business systems and the Web, delivering key insights into plant performance and operations. Capabilities include calculating lost power generation costs, improving generation forecasting, reducing unplanned maintenance, and tracking outages, resource availability and other key performance indicators.

“Our experience with Bay4 led us to the inevitable conclusion that the combination of the two companies’ capabilities and teams would create a unique one-stop shop for intelligent asset management and O&M services for the wind, solar, and other energy sectors,” said Patrick Ramsey, President of Ekhosoft. “The integration of Bay4’s financial asset management and technical services solutions with Ekhosoft’s deep-dive approach to plant performance and operational data management creates a powerful tool for meeting the challenges of owning and operating multigigawatt portfolios.”

In addition to the Ekhosoft acquisition, Bay4 has been aggressively adding to its client portfolio and has made strategic executive hires. The company will issue additional press announcements on its activities in the coming months.
