Business Network for Offshore Wind selects Vitamin as agency of record

By Michelle Froese | February 22, 2017

Following a competitive RFP process, Vitamin has been selected as agency of record (AOR) for the Business Network for Offshore Wind. As the only non-profit organization in the United States solely focused on the creation of an offshore wind industry, the Network’s aim is to have a strong U.S. offshore wind supply chain that has a leading role in the evolving global offshore industry.

The Business Network for Offshore Wind is dedicated to establishing a U.S. offshore wind supply chain while providing education, creating partnerships, and advancing industry best practices.

Vitamin is a full-service boutique web and public relations agency. As AOR, the company will develop and execute an integrated marketing-communications strategy for the organization and its marquee event — the 2017 International Offshore Wind Partnering Forum (IPF), which is the top technical conference for offshore wind in the U.S.

“Things have changed dramatically in offshore wind,” said Liz Burdock, executive director of the Network. “With the recent commitments to buy a combined 4.25 GW of offshore wind energy in Maryland, Massachusetts, and New York, we have an attractive market here in the U.S. that will generate tens of thousands of jobs.”

In its fourth year, the IPF draws more than 450 attendees annually, including the industry’s leading global experts and developers. It takes place April 19 to 21, 2017 in Annapolis, Maryland. Registration is now open.

“The investment in wind energy is expected to accelerate to $300B in 2020 — and our goal is to fuel that growth by connecting U.S. businesses that can develop a domestic supply chain,” added Burdock. “We are confident in Vitamin’s ability to elevate awareness of our growing U.S. market, our organization’s mission and our major annual event, the IPF.”
