Chinese wind company begins global expansion in Dallas

By KRemington | June 16, 2010

On the first day of the conference, Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert visits the Mingyang booth at Windpower 2010. "Mingyang's new operations in Dallas create a win-win relationship," said Leppert. "Its investment over the long term means local jobs, development of more renewable power, and another step toward national security."

Mingyang Wind Power Industry Group Co. Ltd. Announced the opening of its new Dallas-based operations office.

Of the large turbine manufacturers in China, the company is the only on not government owned. A major shareholder and strategic partner Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, is the world’s largest in China. The company’s 2,000 employees operate from five locations.

The company says that from its inception, it has focused on adapting its designs to meet different climatic conditions. Mingyang says its blades are “resilient” to freezing temperatures and typhoon winds.

“Mingyang chose Dallas for our first operations center outside of China because of its strategic location, employment base, and pro-business environment,” says senior vice president Wang Song.
