Ergoyne’s new 4-in-1 thermal jacket provides versatility & visibility

By Michelle Froese | October 11, 2017

Ergodyne has introduced a new innovation to its Foul Weather Gear Series, with the GloWear 8388 Type R Class 3/2 Thermal Jacket Kit. This kit creates the ultimate 4-in-1 high-visibility jacket system by combining the 8386 Class 3 Outer Shell Jacket and the 8287 Convertible Thermal Jacket.

Ergoyne’s new 4-in-1 jacket is made of a weatherproof 300D oxford polyester outer shell and vreathable PU coating. The inner jacket has a 100g 3M Thinsulate lininga

“We partnered with a long-time customer who came to us seeking a single premium jacket solution to be deployed across its organization,” explained Andy Olson, product director, Ergodyne. “With the 8388, workers can choose the configuration that best meets their needs: outer shell, thermal inner, or this new ‘kit’ option.”

Both the 8386 Type R Class 3 Outer Shell and the 8287 Type R Class 2 Convertible Thermal Jacket feature a weatherproof, 300 denier polyester outer shell, a breathable PU coating, two-inch ANSI-compliant 3M Scotchlite Reflective, and multiple external pockets for ample storage. Black panels on the 8386 hide dirt and wear, plus it has an inset hood with a drawstring and stoppers. The rugged 8287 is made with 100g 3M Thinsulate Insulation and its insulated, quilted sleeves can zip out to turn the jacket into a thermal vest.

When Jack Frost rears his ugly head, the 8287 can zip inside the 8386 to form the GloWear 8388 Type R Class 3/2 Thermal Jacket, a customizable solution to help wearers adapt to any climate or weather condition – and stay warm, dry, safe, and seen.

“The GloWear 8385 4-in-1 Jacket has been a staple of our Foul Weather Gear Series for more than a decade,” said Tom Votel, president & CEO, Ergodyne. “By adding some enhanced features, we’ve built on that heritage with the 8388.”
