More quality measurement with this meter

By Kathie Zipp | June 3, 2011

SEL-735

A manufacturer of industrial meters has developed a model that complies with the IEC 61000-4-30 power quality standard and offers high revenue metering accuracy. Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) is now taking orders for the SEL-735 Power Quality and Revenue Meter, which begins shipping on July 15, 2011.

“The SEL-735 Meter launches SEL into a new level of power quality measurement capabilities and ease-of-use,” says Dave Whitehead, vice president of research and development at SEL. “Our development engineers worked at great lengths to maximize product performance on a very economical platform. These innovations make advanced power quality monitoring affordable not just in research projects and highly critical installations but also to anyone looking to monitor and improve power quality.”

In addition to power quality measurement, the company says the SEL-735 is fully compliant with IEC and ANSI revenue metering standards. Integration with energy management software from SEL and others enables users to reduce energy bills. Compliance with Itron MV-90 software is standard.

The standard SEL-735 retails for $1,500. This includes waveform capture, harmonic measurements, and data logging, while also providing IEC and ANSI 0.2 Accuracy Class billing data. The most advanced model, which includes high-order harmonics, sample rates, detailed power quality reports, and Ethernet, is available for $2,575.
