RES to particpate in OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week

By Michelle Froese | August 8, 2019

Safe + Sound Week is a nationwide event held each August that recognizes the successes of workplace safety and health programs and offers information and ideas on how to keep America’s workers safe.

Renewable Energy Systems (RES), the world’s largest independent renewable energy company, affirmed its commitment to the health and safety of its best-in-class workforce by announcing its participation in OSHA’s Safe + Sound Week.

This year, RES has introduced the theme of “UN-EXPECT IT,” and has planned a series of company-wide dialogues across every project site to share best practices and address emerging safety challenges.

Held August 12 to 18, Safe + Sound Week is a nationwide event held each year to recognize the successes of workplace health and safety programs and offers information and ideas on how to keep America’s workers safe. RES joins more than 1,648 businesses nationwide in signing onto this year’s campaign.

“Our primary commitment to our workforce, and to our customers, is that everyone goes home safe and injury-free every day,” said John Bruce, Director of Health, Safety, Quality and Environment at RES. “Each year, Safety Week allows us time as an organization to reinforce the tools and procedures we have in place to support a culture where everyone chooses to work safe every day.”

With more than 25 renewable energy projects throughout the United States, RES is holding a company-wide dialogue and workshop series on how safety is and can be better incorporated into ongoing and future projects. These include:

  • August 12: Hazards at their source
  • August 13: Hazards at-large
  • August 14: Mitigating hazard
  • August 15: Stop work for hazards
  • August 16: Why we work safe
